May I be the first to apologize. This protein thing is getting to me and I

am taking it out on the board. Yes, I do neglect to thank you for this

great place to share. All of you are wonderful and I hope my bad mood did

not send the newbie away.

Nope, Randy, I agree with you, and I thought new members were being moderated to

avoid just this very issue. I waited my year to post, most of the rest of us did

too, seems like a good rule to have if we're going to have any.

Not to mention that that particular question has been answered MANY times over

on AMOS; I have approved a variant of it twice in the past week that *I* can

remember, and I am one of many moderators there. :-)

Well I got a not so nice note from the lady that is 2 weeks away from being

an actual grad.... Said she'd gotten many answers already and that perhaps

not everyone is so stringent about two weeks.... Okay, so, my question now

is this... Is the group open to anyone? I don't mean to try and isolate

anyone, however I found that when I had something to say the entire year

after my wls I was not allowed to post. If someone actually posted that was

not a grad people spoke up, people let it be known what the rules were. So,

are we bending the rules now if someone's " almost " a grad???? If so, I say

let 'em all in... I see some on the protein list that's just a week or so

out, they have lot's of questions..... Am I being an ass? Probably... If,

since I wanna see rules enforced, I'm no longer welcome here, then so be

it.. But I say, if it's a rule, then let's enforce the damn thing.

The list is set to moderate all new members. There was a little period

years ago where that wasn't the case, but I bet those people are a year now.

It's possible the person (me or Judy, unpaid moderators) who approved this

message didn't

notice the two weeks part, or thought it was minimal. When a new poster

comes through who states that they are a year out, we do two things. 1) We

take the person " off " moderation. 2) We approve the message. If they're not

a year, we " reject " their message and write them a message to tell them to

introduce themselves or not post. So, if it was 2 weeks, we probably opted

for the easier solution and " almost " a grad sufficed. It's just a lot of

work to maintain the list, so, be gentle if we cut a corner here or there.

The main reason for the year thing was to try to steer the subject matter to

stuff that wasn't quite as connected with the surgery itself as life

afterwards.

BTW, I've never been to the AMOS board and haven't had a single period since

surgery either. Should I be concerned????? <G>

Well, thanks for mentioning this.....I was starting to wonder if it was

" madatory " that we read the AMOS board as well. You mean if something is

already addressed there we shouldn't bother folks here with it?? P.

OMG Dave!! You absolutely had me ROFLMAO!!

My guess about your questions is that if you haven't had a period since

you're surgery then you're probably either in menopause or you're pregnant.

, I think you d a great job. I know you take a lot of stuff from us

sometimes, me included. Now, about the period thing. Have you checked

with your ob/gyn yet? (snicker, snicker) I don't mean to make light of

this really but it is one of those things that us women either really

worry about or really pray about. Me, I'm a praying woman wanting out of

You don't have to READ AMOS (www.obesityhelp.com) to derive huge

benefits from searching the question and answer library at

http://tinyurl.com/9ll8 when you have a specific question. It's amazing

how many questions 140,000 people have asked over the past few years,

and you're likely to find an answer there if you look. Just my 2 cents

about using resources that already exist.

Well, I'm not too concerned about your never going to AMOS...but..NO period?

How are your commas and colons and semi-colons? Questions marks? Exclamation

points! All fine? But NO period. A definite thing to be concerned about!

BTW, I haven't had one either...Maybe I should be concerned? Many commas,

but no ...'s
