Guest guest
Go Judy! Just having a group effort is helping me keep on it. Sort of a group accountability, even though I'm not really reporting on how I'm doing *grin* Anyway, I hope we can keep this up... I was going to suggest a monthly check in kind of thing... a " How are we doing? " round of emails. What I really should do is find a support group in my area ... Does anyone happen to know about any in the San Ca. area? http://www.eradain.com/apoplexy Re: Re: Day 1 of 3............. Just some members that felt like this was a good time to hold themselves accountable and took steps to exercise some control in their own lives. Whatever your plan for yourself, whatever was right for you, this was not a success/failure event in our lives.

Guest guest
I have to agree here. Who wants to feel like they're dieting? It was definitely the spontaneity that got the group motivated. in NJ *************** > In a message dated 4/16/2003 2:00:29 AM Eastern Standard Time, > vicky@s... writes: > > > How about a bi-weekly checkin on the 15th and 30th? > > > > > > Please don't take this as a personal put down, but please no changes here. Guest guest
I've been lurking here a long time and knew you'd shoot any suggestions from a newbie down. Back to luck mode... Guest guest
Vicky, no need to lurk. And, please don't feel shot down. Personally, I'd rather have a " straight shot from the hip, " than to be ignored. You can check in with me if you want, any day you want. I don't know that I can report back to you, but I'll answer with an acknowledgement and an " attagirl! " ...I don't follow the WLS rules...I don't weigh except when my doctor makes me. I don't drink protein shakes, and I eat what my body craves. I don't eat what I know will make me sick. I lay my fork down between bites, and I chew, chew, chew. Those are my rules. After 21 years, I figure, if it ain't broke, why fix it? <VBG> Jac http://members.cox.net/xxxfarmpaints http://www.pictureitdigitaldesigns.com/ mailto:jholdaway@... Re: Re: Day 1 of 3............. Guest guest
Vicky, There is something I have learned the last couple of years since surgery, we are all different. Where Fay wants spontaneity, you want structure. If you want to check in twice a month, by all means check in with us twice a month. That is what is so great about this group. You can truly do what is best for you. I look forward to hearing from you the 15th and the end of the month. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs. Guest guest
I didn't mean a rigid check in system of, this is how many pounds I've lost, this is how many inches I've lost, this is my structured diet... I meant checking in as in, how're you doing? Doesn't even need to be weight or surgery related at all. Just a time to let the rest of the list know how we're doing. We do this on a reading group list I'm on. On the 15th of each month we tell what we're reading, or a little about what's going on with us. It just encourages people to speak up that otherwise would stay lurking. Just an idea. Guest guest
Back to luck mode... Ah Vicky....don't do that!!! It is just that there are so many different personality types here. You probably will get many different responses to your post.......just take the ones that pertain to you and go with it. Fay was just strictly saying that she isn't " into " or " capable " of doing that kind of a structured/accountability thing........personally I can't either. BUT, there are probably some people on here who would thrive with those conditions. Hang in with us, PLEASE???? P.
