Iron Infusions - when is it time?

If you've had iron infusions, at what levels did your doctor determine to go

with an infusion rather than an oral supplement?

My hemoglobin and hematocrit have consistently stayed right around or just below

the borderline (10.4 and 32 respectively) for the past year, through three sets

of labs and increasing dosages of oral iron. It seems pretty clear to me that

increasing the dosage is not really having an effect on my absorption. I am now

doubling the dosage (from 300 mg elemental per day to 600), and will check in 30

days, but am starting to wonder when it's time to worry.
