Hi, I just want to share that my wires were removed today. I still

have the splint attached to the upper jaw, and I have not had the

wires remvoved inmy gums, but, I can open!!! I has been 6 weeks,

5days, but who's counting!!!

I am a little grossed out how dirty my teeth are, and I can't get

the baby toothbrush in there just yet, but I will take it easy, it

has only been 2hours. I have to go back tomorrow and friday for

check ups. I am going to keep practicing so I can get the splint

off asap. But, I am not stupid, and I don't want to rush it, but I

will try to help it along as best as I can.

My OS said that I was the most timid adult! I was so scared to try

to open up. he assured me that NOTHING will hurt my progress now,

my jaw is rock solid. It feels like one of my jaw joints has

to " pop " . I was told heat, which I have been doing for weeks, will

loosen the muscles. oh, I have 2 bands on to help guide into the

spint and I will but on tighter ones at night. other than that, I

can at least have a milkshake tonight without straining it!!!!!!

ahh...pistachio is calling me.

I can't believe how happy I am. My husband just called to see how I

did and he was so happy to hear my voice!!! YIPPEE!!! I finally

feel like the end is in sight!

thank you everyone for your support posts, they have really helped

me along.

Dear bethanne,

Thanks so much for this post. Can i ask you - was there pain or

discomfort in opening your jaw or was it just stiff or odd?

I have to focus on the fact that I am over one third of the way

through being wired and in a week's time, halfway....

But i am very much looking forward to the day you have just had so

your post was inspiring for me....
