Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I had my surgery (lower/upper, bone removed from hip) exactly three weeks ago today. I'm so thankful for this group for making me feel better about my situation. Alone no more! The first week was the worst. I started to have panic attacks and was only able to get about five hours of sleep for the whole week. With my nose plugged, I felt like I couldn't breathe through the splint and wires. The OS became concerned and removed the splint (he even offered to do it at 9PM). Since then, everything has gone a lot better. The swelling is going down little by little every day. My lower lip is still as big as ever, but at least my cheeks are beginning to shrink. The OS told me that the swelling will remain until the wires are cut and I can exercise my jaw a little. Eating isn't too much of a problem for me. I really like Ensure for some strange reason, but I can't wait to wrap my teeth around a hamburger. Three more weeks to go!!! Take care!!! -Dave
