There seems to be a debate by some nutritionist. I have heard anywhere

from 50 to 100% of caffeine free Cokes can count. I personally went to a

nutritionist who said that caffeine free anything counted 100% while

caffeinated stuff was 50%. Clear as mud?

Any liquid that does not contain salt counts as water. Vegetables also

count as water. There is little if any evidence that caffeine is a true

diuretic. See http://www.cosic.org/caffeine/diureticeffects/

Ray,

I can't believe that you continue to post this crap about caffeine. That

website is owned by an industry-marketing group for COFFEE. DUH!! You

really diminish your credibility, with me at least, every time you

insist on posting that URL.

Caffeine is a diuretic. Most of us have experienced that personally.

It's not rocket science.

I have no vested interested in caffeine consumption. This is a site

that does cite studies and discusses their results. If you can refer me

to other sites that say otherwise, I would certainly look at them.

Better yet, post a few medical journal articles that have demonstrated

that caffeine is a diuretic. If it is so easily proven, then please do

so.

Then you can't count my local drinking water as water! (Ha ha.) I live in the

Panhandle of Texas and the water here is from a lake that contains high

levels of salt. Ergo, the tap water we have is salty with hard water deposits

like

you wouldn't believe. Thank God for water purification by reverse osmosis or

I'd puff up like the Goodyear Blimp!! (I have a thyroid disorder.)
