Ya know, I have never liked the peeps. However, I know when I see the

peeps that the cadbury eggs are out. And oh how I like cadbury eggs.

Thank goodness they only come out once a year. Lori Owen

Just this morning I wrote to and told her about the centerpieces at

a brunch that I went to today. They were made of Peeps. Now people are

decorating with the stupid things!! I have to say that they were very cute

and " spring " -y. I resisted them, which was hard knowing that they had

probably been sitting out awhile and were most likely nice I stale. Had

they been Cadbury Creme Eggs though, I don't know if I'd have been able to

be so good. Only a few more days until Easter and then they stop stocking

them. I just have to get past the after-Easter sales where they sell them

for a quarter each and I'm safe for another year. For anyone who goes to

topsecretrecipes.com, this week's recipe is for homemade Cadbury eggs. They

even tell you how to make them with the yellow middles!! It was tempting

just to see if I could do it, but I'm not even going there. To many spoons

that I'd have to lick, and too many mistakes that I'd have to eat. Oops!!

That one came out lopsided - have to eat it. Oops! That one doesn't have

enough of a " yolk " - have to eat it. Oops! Now I have an odd number - have

to eat one.

Yesterday I put together 10 Easter baskets, with all the usual Easter

goodies. Can you imagine the temptation of all the MOUNDS of candy in front

of me. And I'm kinda compulsive too, so I had to first divide all the jelly

beans, for example, according to color, and then put the same number of jelly

beans of each color into each of the 10 baskets. (Don't ask, lol! That's just

how I am).

Of course there were some jelly beans of each color left over that wouldn't

divide into ten. Like, 4 reds, 2 pinks, 3 blacks, u know. I had quite a pile

of those going and all the while I sat there told myself that was MY pile to

eat when I got all done. Decided instead to make up an itty-bitty basket for

my therapist and used up all the " leftovers " that way--except for one

marshmallow egg and one jelly bean, which made it into my mouth despite my

best efforts at keeping my hands tied behind my back.

Had some broth left over from boiling chicken the day before (I just add

salt, pepper, and sage to the water when I boil it; it's great). Went and had

a huge mug of the broth and that helped to quell the desire, finally.
