Guest guest
Hello, I don't post often but I read almost all postings - except for the past week because I have been so overwhelmed. My question to you, my wise friends, is regarding Xanax. I have been prescribed it on a short-term basis to manage over some very rough times (and as a last resort). I am closely monitored by a psychiatrist/neurologist for this. However, I have been gaining weight since around the time I started taking it about 2 months ago. I am noticing that no matter what I eat / don't eat, excercise or not, the scale is creeping up. I am wondering if this is related to the Xanax or if it is my body just trying to normalize at 18 months post-op (5'4.5 @ 110 lbs, open RNY-proximal, very small frame). I also had severe malnutrition due to WLS complications which lasted from approximately June to December and required a significant surgical intervention in November (open repair of stomach obstruction which included taking apart and repairing then reattatching my pouch and intestines). This weight gain feels scary and out of control (even though it is just a few lbs). I am at the point where I want to maintain my weight and my surgeon agrees this is a good weight for me and my body type. Any thoughts or comments are welcome either privately or to the group.
