I worked for A prestigious medical journals publisher for the business

manager. Let me tell you how close the decision on what articles were to be

published to what advertisements were placed in the journals.

That is why we share here as to what works for us.

assorted " plain old " people apparently) just want to see what's printed in

books, not bothering to care about or consider what's actually happening to

PEOPLE.

this has been a huge controversy within the thyroid community for many many

years. in the last five years several well know doctors have come out and

said forget the labs, what do the patients feel? synthroid does not convert

from T4 to T3 in everyone and maybe that needs to be treated. anyhow, I

won't cut and paste or run on about the whole conversion of meds but just

last month the powers that be finally lowered the acceptable lab range for

thyroid testing - basically meaning that more of us are hypothyroid and that

more of us need higher doses vs. constant lowering of our dose making us

feel fatigued all the time. many of the doctors aren't even aware that the

lab range has been lowered so stay informed especially if you are

hypothyroid.

but it is a constant on-going problem that doctors only know what a medical

book taught them or what a sales rep tells them about a drug and they won't

listen to their patients.

in my former life, I worked at Rutgers Univ. doing alcohol and caffeine

research, I also worked for the company that prints medical textbooks and

someone had to proof those books before they went to press - yes that was

me.
