Guest guest
Shirley, Here's my input. Drop it!!! LOL (There's been a " discussion " of this the last few days, verging on out-of-control....check the message archives.) Seriously, you can go to our homepage at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG and click on messages, then " thread " them and read more than you *ever* wanted to know. You know, it just makes sense we should drink as much water as we can and probably as few chemicals as possible. I'm not an expert, and this is an informal board of friends, not experts, but I personally would not count coffee, would count Crystal Light but not use it for more than about half the water requirements. It's tough getting in 8 glasses. Drinking coffee does the same to us as anyone else.....wires us if we drink too much, etc. I am unaware of anything is does much differently. Some of us tend to get carried away with our differences. What I've observed in 5 years is that I can't drink for an hour or two after I eat.....it doesn't feel good and I'm not supposed to. I can't drink sugary stuff on an empty stomach or I'll have cramps and diarrhea. I can't eat sugary foods unless it's not much of it and on a full stomach. I can't drink anything cold before my coffee in the morning or it messes things up. I can't drink as much booze because it goes straight to the gut and makes me feel bad. And ibuprofen can upset my stomach. Other than these few things, which I absolutely don't mind living with, I'm pretty much like the next guy. Just my nickel, in Austin RNY April 1998 DRINKING > I know that we are supposed to drink 8 glasses of water a day, does > coffee count as our water? What does the caffine in the coffee do to > us? > Shirley >

Guest guest
I was informed that anything with caffeine would not count towards our fluid intake -- and that if you have something with caffeine we need to add more fluid to compensate. . .is that true?
