Guest guest
, Many who can qualify for WLS have ask my opinion. I never, ever say they should go ahead with the surgery. I do encourage them to research and talk to their doctors. I just attended the funeral of a friend. A dad with three children. He died two days after WLS due to a blood clot (he was 40 years old). He wanted the surgery because he wanted to be around for his kids for a long time. If I had encouraged this man to have the surgery, I would never have forgiven myself, and neither would his wife or kids. Your scared friend must decide for herself. Your influence could come back to haunt you. Gayle ____________ I have a friend that's the mother of two young boys. She's interested in the surgery, but fears she'll be one of the few who ends up with complications. Being a mother, she's " on the fence " about the surgery because of her kids. Since I am not a mother yet, the only thing I've been able to share with her is that she has to consider that she could die from obesity and that she wouldn't be there for her children. With WLS, at least she's taking steps to prevent that.
