Hi Barbara,

I didn't do anything special.  I was just bringing up the cows tail.  I

read that some folks on the list were going to do a protein shake and water

fast for 3 days  Not doing it totally alone felt like I had someone else on

my side.  Going through it together is easier than doing it alone.

So I determined to do nothing but protein shakes and water for 3 days.

At least 3 shakes a day and all the water I could get down.  I did fine on

the first day but was too hungry on the second day and ate a protein bar and

a few soy crackers w/homemade salsa.  On the third day I had the shakes,

water and 2 protein bars and a small piece of steak.

All in all I am happy with the results.  Three pounds lost and I feel

more in control now.  But not enough to call it a complete success.  I was

mainly disappointed in my own lack of self control, the fact that I was not

able to stick to the program as I had planned it for just three days.  But I

am seriously thinking of cutting back to two days and only on the days that I

do not work.  That may be better because I did feel tired after the last day.

In my opinion it all comes down to what you want to accomplish and what

your body requires to keep you going.  If you can go for two or three days on

shakes and water and still feel good, go for it!  But if you need more solid

food to sustain you, add real protein foods like some others have done.

Being healthy and feeling good is all that is important from now on.
