Guest guest
Hi, my name is Dorothy and although I am fairly new to this group, I have been reading posts and taking notes for some time now. I officially became a WLS Graduate on March 21, 2003, with a loss of 110 pounds to date. I continue to struggle with a slower paced weight loss due to multiple medical issues, however I am fortunate that the detection of pulmonary emboli occurred prior to total respiratory failure* and I am pleased to no longer be considered a type II insulin dependent diabetic. In addition to the above, I have experienced other odd developments that perhaps members of this group could identify with or relate to and would kindly consider sharing their experiences and offer their insight or advice as to their arrival at a diagnosis, subsequent treatment options or choices. For instance, there has been a rapid development of nodules throughout the body that range from annoying to extremely painful. This is in addition to the existence of Fibromyalgia nodules in the usual trigger point areas. Secondly, an exacerbation of Rheumatoid Arthritis inflammation factor/ C-reaction protein elevation and the correlation of excruciating joint pain and costochondritis diagnosis (inflamation of the chest wall). Thank you so very much in advance for your interest in what has been described to me as a quintessential medical mystery. Sincerely, Dorothy M. Nunez *Note: As per the pulmonologist, this is typically described as the silent killer as more than 30,000 American die each year from undetected Pulmonary Emboli.
