Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I saw the local surgeon today. He had referred me to a more experienced surgeon for evaluation of the right upper quadrant pain I am experiencing due to my being so complex and my liver enzymes and bilirubin being elevated. This was after extensive testing with no clear cut answers to the pain. Both surgeons agree that I need to have an exploratory laparotomy, lysis of adhesions and an intra operative cholangiogram. The local surgeon also found at least one incisional hernia above the waist.. same place that I had a hernia repair done during my revision in 2002. This will need to be addressed.. and he thinks I may have another hernia a bit further down my incision line.. but is not sure. I am not sure when I am having this surgery as the surgeon has to coordinate my surgery date.. which will be on a Wednesday ,.. and his schedule with the GI doctor /s schedule .. so that the GI doctor can do the intraoperative cholangiogram. I will post as I know more details.. To tell you all the truth, I am nervous about another surgery, and relieved that they are going to try and do something to relieve the severe pain at the same time.. I suppose I am just reacting normally to having another surgery.. being nervous and a bit anxious. Guest guest
I have to admit that one of the reasons that I don't have a TT is that I am wary of another surgery, but if I were having your pain, I would do it in a minute. Good luck to you. Fay Bayuk **300/173 10/23/01 Dr. Open RNY 150 cm

Guest guest
Dear Faye, I would love to have a tummy tuck, but am anemic so that isnt an option with this surgery .. I will have to wait until my health is much improved to undergo reconstructive surgeries. But, thanks for the input. Guest guest
Dear Tara, I had hernia repairs done but not with mesh before. I dont know if the current surgeon plans to use mesh or not.. These are more questions that I need to ask of him before I have surgery again. I hope you do well.
