Guest guest
I had it at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale with Dr. Marema (US Bariatrics). He was fantastic. Guest guest
I had gastric bypass at Cleveland Clinic Weston in July 2002.I also had plastics there in November. The physicians are excellent and caring, however their aftercare program isn't great. The program, like many bariatric programs has gotten extremely popular, so the care isn't as personal as it was when I had my surgery. However,I saw 3 doctors before selecting Cleveland Clinic. One doctor's informational session (no names be mentioned) was like attending a Billy Graham Crusade, people literally cried when doctor walked in room-very very very weird. That particular doctor has had numerous (over 10 )fatalities that we know of.There have been zero fatalities with bariatric program at Cleveland Clinic-makes ya wonder. My suggestion is to attend informational sessions with several physicians. You will know then who's the right fit. For more info on Cleveland Clinic go to: http://www.clevelandclinic.org/florida/depts/wib/links.html read the patient testimonials. You can email me anytime and I will put you in touch with many patients who have been to CC.We have even formed our own aftercare support group. We meet monthly in different peoples homes and have speakers and a network of compassionate individuals who visit pre ops in the hospital and provide telephone and in person support. Remember,in your quest for the right doctor, you will hear good/bad about any doctor.Be informed.Read and ask questions, visit doctors. This is your body and your life.Good luck!!
