It is never too late. We know what to do. Can You find a walking buddy. Do

the best you can with mostly protein food plan? It is hard to detox from

carbs, but many have restarted their engines this way.

Hey - I absolutely believe it's possible. But first, I really want to

identify with your comments about your husband. My H had the same surgery I

did, and is just coming up on 18 months. He eats horrible (although he is very

good about getting the vitamins and protein supplements in), and his weight loss

has been easy. I think he is starting to worry now though, having watched me

coast through the 2 year mark eating out of control, and then paying a little

price :)

Can you lose it? I know I can. I gained 10 lbs. over the last 3.5 months. No

question how it happened - if you eat a couple of thousand calories in sugar a

day, it turns out even a distal bypass can gain weight!!! I am back in control,

and starting to lose again (at almost 3 years). Of course, I'm still just

losing my regain, but I am optmistic I'll also be able to lose the other 10 lbs.

or so I'd like to lose.

It is not especially easy for me, but not excruciating. I just don't like to

have to watch what I eat. More of the little girl stomping her foot and saying

" But I don't wanna " than it is an inability to lose.

Dearest --

I'm right there with ya, gal! I'm 23 months post op, and our

weights/gains/losses are about the same. I oftentimes feel as you and I have

no magic words, even though I wish I did. I do honestly feel, however, that

it is NEVER TOO LATE. Remember, NEVER. Just keep on keepin' on. I also

know it is so very easy to get sucked in by others losses or " better

numbers, " but don't do that to yourself. It's very hard, but we are all

different, and we will all lose accordingly. Please try not to compare

yourself. That, in itself, is self-defeating. Keep to the basics, protein,

protein, protein, water, and move your body. You have already been rewarded

by your efforts and you will continue to be rewarded still.

Good luck to you and keep your chin up!
