Guest guest
Hi Kat, Yes, you can upload, but the moderator here is a little more vigorous in pruning than I've had to be on site 2, so for the longer term, you're very welcome to post them there (even as duplicate). Looking forward to seeing an update! > Hi again, > > I noticed that i can open the photos page now, does anyone know if > that means we are able to upload them too? i will hopefully be able > to show my fellow surgery buddies what i look like after promising > for ages to get them to you, sorry guys!!! > thanks > > Kind regards > > Kat_UK

Guest guest
Kat: Yes, you can, I did some house cleaning this morning. I won't name names, but 3 users were using 12Mb of space for their pictures. I deleted the full size pictures, and kept only the regular sized ones. The gallery now contains enough space for you (and many more) to post a few pictures of their own. Also, if you wish your pictures to remain longer on the web, consider using a service like ofoto, or create your own Yahoo! web album. This way, you'll simply have to post a link here. : With 29.12 MB space used out of the 30MB we had (this morning), I had to remove the full size pictures. One member had 10 pictures of 500Kb each. That's 5MB, or over 15% of storage. For one person. Sorry, but removing those, and removing the very old albums is the only way to go. One thing I don't want to, is being looked upon as being too severe. That's not the case. But, in order to give everyone a chance to show their new face, we need to ask older members to remove their pictures, from time to time. We have over 3800 active members. If each member were to post only one picture of 10Kb size, that would make 37MB, already. And 10Kb is way smaller than the average picture posted on this board. So, you see my dilemma. I'd like to know how you deal with space issues and restriction on your site? Unless you've bought space from Yahoo!, I fail to see how you can strech your space to accomodate everyone for ever. Unless there are far fewer members, and thus fewer members posting pictures. That's not an argument, I'm asking this only as an information. Thanks, Ray
