Guest guest
Oh, yeah... Sorry. They're nasty. Someone chased them with black coffee, with good results. Best suggestion I've heard. It's not forever, second best suggestion. And they are important. If your tummy won't tolerate them, call the doc, right away. c. > okay...so is anyone familiar with that gross, pink, liquid > antibiotics that they give you after surgery. i found out that if i > mix the pain meds with like grape juice...it's tolerable. but the > antibiotics are just horrible! i about thew up when i tried taking > them the first time...and the thought of throwing up while banded > shut freaks me out! i know the antibiotics are needed for healing > and to prevent infection...but i don't know how i can take them! > does anyone have any advice?? > Thanks! > > Tom

Guest guest
--- Tom, I was told to take one teaspoon four times a day (Keflex). It was suppose to be bubblegum. I'm sure my kids would have loved it. I thought it was nasty with a horrible aftertaste. I aimed the syringe near the back and swallowed fast. Then I chased it with chocolate ensure. That helped alittle bit. Thank goodness it was only for one week!!! Before you know it the 7-10 days will be over and you'll be over another hurdle!! Good luck, In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " Tom " <tstapleton01@h...> wrote: > okay...so is anyone familiar with that gross, pink, liquid > antibiotics that they give you after surgery. i found out that if i > mix the pain meds with like grape juice...it's tolerable. but the > antibiotics are just horrible! i about thew up when i tried taking > them the first time...and the thought of throwing up while banded > shut freaks me out! i know the antibiotics are needed for healing > and to prevent infection...but i don't know how i can take them! > does anyone have any advice?? > Thanks! > > Tom

Guest guest
Call your doc, or his/her office, and tell them you can't do it. Yes, some folks have trouble. Depends what you have. I could down mine. Some folks have found it palatable if chased with black coffee... There may be some other kind, though, that will do better. Or even, if worst comes to worst, by injection... You gotta ask the doc, though..
