Hi Ray,

I've been pretty successful at keeping plenty of room on site 2 by

going in each time a member posts photos (or once a week) and

checking the size of the new ones. Most people end up posting large

files (it's impossible to control this), but as you've figured out,

you can delete the large size file without deleting the photo (I

suggested this technique a long time ago to the owner of this site).

At some point well into a person's recovery (maybe 3-6 months) I

prune some of the extra photos and try to keep about 6 at most, more

if the person's case is unusual or the photos of exceptional value (I

and some others do like to look at some of the old members photos,

like Kat_UK's, for example). I most always get rid of the photos of

children of members, and any that are poor quality either in ability

to see what the person's condition is, or out of focus.

In my experience, not everyone posts photos, so I haven't had a

problem there. Unfortunately this is the more active site and it's

why I have always said it (and site 2) requires constant work by the

moderator/owner in the photo files, or the files become quickly

inaccessible to members (of which I'm still one!)

I agree that the best solution is to post offsite as there is

infinite room (although most people will want to see photos here as

it's hard to go through back posts looking for peoples' photo links),

but personally, I would prefer to see a link here onsite.

If her photo album is still here, the very best example is the member

named lmont2000 (: she posted one photo with the caption that

told you where her link was). Her photos were exceptional in showing

change pre-op each month to over a year post-op. It was wonderful to

see how much she changed over that period of time, and it was useful

for post-oppers in the early stages of recovery to see that change

takes a very long time. Hopefully it's still here, if not, people can

see this link from the geocities site, I think, or the oss2 site, as

she gave me permission to post it there.

My offer to Kat, as an oss2 friend going back several years, was

simply that I would never delete her folder from site 2 and that I

would do my best to keep the site's photo section accessible.

Hope that helps,

Hi Kat,

Ofoto is a Kodak website, I believe it is free. I posted my photos on

there, if you want to see what it looks like go to the links section

under photo albums and click on " Marsha's pics " once you are on the

site you can surf around and register.

As soon as you create an album, cut the URL of this album and paste
