Guest guest
For those interested. I have in the past year or more, been running Norton 2000 Antiviral nonstop, and have found it excellent at finding Virus files in my e-mail. About a week ago my computer started acting up and little things went wrong. This became worse in a few days, until my Son in Law said ,"You have probably got a Worm, why don't you try AVG, they have a free Test on line" AVG do have a free test on line and they also have a free download as well. I was greedy and tried a 30 day trial of their 'for sale' Antiviral Software and promptly tried it out. I was extremely surprised to find that although I had been running Norton, I had 14 files infected with the WORM BUGBEAR Virus and 2 with WORM/KLEZ.H This is not new. Something similar happened a few months ago and I tried PCCILLIN's "HouseCall" Software, and the same thing happened, but only one WORM/KLEZ.H at that time. I have spoken to other friends and they tell me the same sort of story. They run one Antiviral software all the time, not only Norton, but other brands as well, then they have to back-up the permanent software by using another one to double check . Now to answer that question somebody is about to ask - yes I have been getting my 'Update Viral Definitions' and every other update each 7 to 14 days. I don't know what difference it would have made if I downloaded my updates more often, but there is a limit. I guess the only safe way is to download on a daily basis. Regards to all Bill Pilgrim -- Re: A WinXP patch You have a bad virus Clean it up quick--"I'll lean on you and you lean on me and we'll be okay." Guest guest
Thanks for your suggestion. I downloaded the free version and think it cleared away my viruses. I had those also, plus Kern something. Anyway, I think it is clean. I run PC-cillin all the time but apparently it didn't catch those worms. Between you and I with all these worms, maybe we can go fishing. Bernice

Guest guest
Jim and Judy, It wasn't the wWinXP patch I downloaded, it was the AVG. Just type AVG in your search box and it will give the address. I think the address is http://www.grisoft.cz/ It takes a while to download, but then it cleans up your computer pretty good. I had it before my old computer crashed and it worked great, but hadn't yet downloaded it to this one. Bernice
