Hi, I am having my surgery Thursday too. Good luck and I'll reach out a

hand from Michigan. See you on the other side! C.J.

-- Two more days!

Hey there, everyone!

I'm sorry I don't post here more often. I wish I could, but between getting

200 to 300

regular e-mails a day in addition to my Yahoo! groups, and there being

regularly

around 100+ messages per day in this group, I just don't have time to. But I

try to

read (or at least skim) everything. I think this is a great group, and I've

gotten a lot of

information from you all!

My surgery date is the 8th. Thursday morning. It hardly seems real, as it is

coming up

on me. I'm still waiting for something to go wrong at the last minute,

because that

always seems to be the way things go with me, but my fingers are crossed. I

m so

lucky that I have everyone I know behind me, family and friends, and a great

support

network before and after the surgery. Shoot, my sister from a state away

wants to

visit me in the hospital the morning I go into surgery! How's that for

dedication? I'm

blessed, thank God!

I may be in the hospital for a longer period than usual. My surgeon relates

that it

would be because of my weight and the potential difficulty in breathing

post-op. He

wants to keep me sedated for a full day after surgery, and maybe for more; I

gave this

information to my regular doctor, who is one of the most highly regarded

internists in

this region, and he supports that. Because of this, and because of the sheer

volume of

posts here, I am going to no-mail as of Wednesday night. (On all of my

groups.)

There's a good possibility I'll be able to get a borrowed laptop before I

leave the

hospital (or skilled care, which my doc and surgeon both want me to go in),

so I may

be able to rejoin soon. Here's hope!

Anyway, thanks to you all for being the support you didn't know you were. I

hope that

I can report good news soon after the 8th!

Dep, best of wishes to you. I'm so looking forward to hearing from you when

you get home. I get little goose bumps when I think of someone having

surgery in just a couple of days. Colleen is having surgery on the 8th too,

and I believe Kris is too. So sending all of your best thoughts for you.
