Guest guest
For me only, when I get a rash on my eyelid, it is usually from some makeup ingredient or a change in soap. But, I assume he gave you a cortisone shot. If it is not helping, then it is something else. Fay Bayuk 300/175 10/23/01 Dr

Guest guest
I am no authority on skin rashes. I don't often get them, but I have very sensitive skin and sometimes I get itching that drives me nuts. My first instinct is that upping you E might help. Also, the type of dry E makes a difference too. I understand that the E that says d-alpha.... is better than the dl-alpha, which is a synthetic. I only found this out a few months ago, and it does seem to make a difference to my skin. I don't think there is a toxic level for E. I take 1200 a day. I learned, when I was doing medical transcription that cortisone, applied to the skin is a quick fix at best. Using it often can actually make things worse. It can thin the skin and make it more suseptible to the problems you are having. You can break a capsule of vitamin E and apply it to the rash. Sometimes this does wonders. Taking cortisone internally can have terrible side effects, and should only be used as a last resort. There also are a host of herbal remedies for skin conditions. http://DrWeil.com is a good site for sensible information on herbals as well as conventional medicine. He believes in using whatever works and is not harmful. BarbaraGrosvenor Rash on neck and eyelids Hi -- I am fairly new to this site. I lurk all the time, am 14 months post op, doing well. I have developed this rash on my neck and eyelids and am just wondering if it could be due to a vitamin deficiency. I just had my lab work done, and the doc told me all was well. I have recently run out of my dry E and haven't taken the time to re-order to pick up anymore. I know that every complication we encounter isn't related to WLS, but I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this post-op -- just tossing the question " out there " . By the way, my PCP gave me a shot and some ointment yesterday and neither has helped a bit. He told me to call him Friday (tomorrow) and let him know how I was doing, but I thought I would ask everyone here in the meantime for any feedback, thoughts, etc. Thanks to all.
