Guest guest
Sounds like a bit of carb withdrawal symptoms, Fay. Hang in there with it...and you'll get a ton of energy when the withdrawal wears off. Lots of times that feeling is mistaken for not enough nutrients. You are being very well nourished, so no problems there. You body is just going through a bit of a shock with the change...it's begging for carbs, and you are not giving in to it. Once it realizes this...you are going to feel better than ever! Hang in there! Regards~ Jacque Distal RNY, 5/30/00 Drs. Guest guest
Fay....I know this happened to me when I did the Atkin's diet a few years back........he addresses it specifically. It is probably a depletion of potassium........our bodies have to store a LOT of water 50/50 when we are eating carbs. When we cut them out and start to flush the water out of our bodies we also unfortunately flush the potassium too. I don't think that you can get enough from a simple multi either............. HTH, P. protein only > I am well into my second day on protein only. Bars, liquids, meat. I just > started to feel like I've been hit by a truck. What can be happening? > Taking all my supplements. Guest guest
Wow, , you just reminded me...about 25 years ago, when I was on the original liquid protein diet, the doctor was adamant about us taking additional potassium for that very reason. I had forgotten about that. in NJ **************** > Fay....I know this happened to me when I did the Atkin's diet a few years back........he addresses it specifically.
