-Hi gary, firstly welcome to the group.

My names KAterina (known as KAt_uk), i have to admit i dont get onto

the boards as often as i would like anymore. I had surgery just

over 2 years ago now, when i was 17. I have been treated by my

ortho since i was 13 as they had to allow for growth. i had upper

and lower jaw surgery (plus rpe+sinus work) to correct a class III

underbite. As for the weight loss, it differs from person to

person, i just read that i can be anything up to 20lbs. as for

myself i lost a stone in weight in the first 5 days post op. it

generally settled after that and i probably started to put weight

back on a few weeks later. hope this helps you out.

Kind regards

thanks kat......im definetly hoping for 20 pounds and i do NOT plan

on gaining that back. i could stand to lose about 10 which would put

me right in the middle of my weight bracket...howver i rather be

skinnier than larger..

-LOL thats always one way to look at it. though a word of advice

told to me dont treat the op as a diet, i felt so ill that first

week or so as i just couldnt stand to eat and had no energy etc. I

didnt really find that the weight went back on that easily either,

just as long as you get the nutrients you need to get well again you

you should be fine.

Kind regards
