I was one of the ones who wanted to have a video and now that i have

seen only the first 45 seconds of her actual surgery, i could not

handle it and stopped the viewing. i never thought i would do that,

but now that i think about it, i did opt not to go to nursing school

after seeing what my sister had to go through in training. I agree,

thank GOD we are knocked out. Who would want to do this for a

living?

, in re: Who would want to do this for a living?

I once asked that to an endodontist who does nothing but root canals

all day long, day after day. I could not imagine anybody wanting to

look at abscessed, necrotic, painful teeth all day long. He was doing

two crowned teeth, one of them dead already, for me. I think he gave

me a most excellent answer.

He said, " Most of my patients who come in are in great pain. I see

them, do some work, and by the time they leave, they feel better. "

I can't think of a better reason, except that the patients' general

health usually improves, too.

But I think for these surgeons, it takes some more time for their

patients to reach the goal.
