I don't readily see how it could be preventative -- <snip> Thanks Marjorie. I will bring this up when I see my derm - my appointment is getting closer! (I am not sure if I mentioned it here, but the GP referred me to a derm - that was on April 25 - and my appointment was scheduled for August 28 - that's a pretty short waiting time around here, 4 months is peanuts (compared to a periodontist who offered an appointment 8 (yes, that is eight) months away). <G> I planned to post a little update on myself anyway, so here goes - I'd doing ok! (knock on wood). The everyday flushes that I experienced every morning at the computer went away couple of weeks ago - I still have an occasional one, but they are less frequent and milder. I had to discontinue my Tetracycline (250 mg a day) about 2 weeks ago, because I started having a problem with a mild yeast infection. I tried to take the Tetracycline only every other day, but I realized that as long as I keep taking it, it doesn't make sense to keep buying OVC treatments for the yeast infection, so I completely discontinued. So far so good. Ontario is now simmering in hot, humid weather and surprisingly, it bothers my face only little. I am very good at staying out of the sun during the day, I get up each day at 6 a.m. to take my dogs for a walk, so we are back in by 7a.m. - I feel too tired in the heat to walk them in the late afternoon heat. I haven't change my facial regimen - I still wash with Cetaphil bar 2x a day, use Herbacort (these days only at night as I find it a bit too heavy for the hot weather, and I still continue my cabbage treatments but only when I feel like it (3x a week, approximately). In the morning, I use only sunscreen (Neutrogena) but will switch to Marcelle as soon as I am finished with this bottle. A response to 's question about the colour of my face - slight pinkness in certain areas - cheeks, nose, chin, central forehead, otherwise normal. On good days, my pinkness looks very natural as I am the very fair-skinned type, and I don't use foundation at all. I stopped using it when my rosacea flared up in the spring, but I may return to it now when things seem to be under control. I use only a small dab on the nose, anyway. It still is a challenge to get into my car every afternoon after work - the car is baking all day on a parking lot without an iota of shade. I envy everyone who has underground parking! :-) Take care, everyone. Alena
