Guest guest
Hi everyone, My name is Lea and I had lower jaw surgery & genioplasty on Oct 22nd in Edmonton, Alberta to fix a very open and crooked bite. I just got back home yesterday and I've been enjoying not having to take the IV cart with me everywhere I go! Eating is proving to be quite the challenge, as I'm so swollen up I can barely swallow or close my huge monster lips. I expected swelling, but this is insane! I don't even recognize the girl in the mirror (when I can see her through my swollen eyelids that is!) Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and thank you all for the great information that I've found on this site so far. It's always reassuring to know you're not alone =) Lea

Guest guest
Lea, remember the swelling usually peaks at day three so you're on the way down now. remember to drink plenty of water as this will help with the swelling use ice for the next couple of days and take your antiinflams. I prefer bromelain (pineapple enzyme) cuz it also helps with bruising, sinus congestion, and mucus breakdown. ps- stop looking in the mirror so much!!!!!! eric > > Hi everyone, > > My name is Lea and I had lower jaw surgery & genioplasty on Oct 22nd > in Edmonton, Alberta to fix a very open and crooked bite.
