I think in many cases, i don't know about most, the midlines can be

worked on to a satisfying degree. i am almost 5 months post op and

am working with my OD on shifting my teeth, upper and lower, to the

left. my midlines are off AND i have a crooked face! (see photos

under ). The off center chin was pre-existing, but not

noticeable as much and was accentuated by the surgery. my OD took

all metal bands off back teeth, upper and lower on left side,

polished between the teeth to create minute spaces and is now

shifting all to the left. it will take a lot longer post surgery to

be in ortho, but at this point with all i've been through (upper,

lower, genio), i want things as best as they possibly can be. Work

with ortho and see what he/she can do.

I say " straight face, midline off " because the midline is visible

only when you smile and only up close. Also, if the ortho can't fix

it there are at least two options that I know of:

(a) more orthognathic surgery; or

(B) poercelain veneers for the two front teeth.

There are many people with crooked front teeth which look much worse

than shifted midlines. Don't worry about at this stage.

Best regards
