Guest guest
Cori, wonderful, wonderful weight loss! Jumping for joy for you. My docs/dieticians haven't recommended the protein shakes, but recently told me to try the protein bars. I bought some, and I had to gag one down today. Ickkkkky! The only ones that seem to be good are the ones with lots of carbs and sugars....of course. Rather than eating those, I think I'll try harder at getting the protein from real foods. Of course, are taste buds are different, so one that doesn't appeal to me, you might like. I'm finding out I just need to try things and see how they do. Guest guest
I actually just took tylenol for the flu/cold thing and it seems to work for me...it's funny with food, things now you never thought would make you sick will...potatoes are my offender, can't eat them...feel icky, then dump!!! yuck! and it is any kind of potatoe...doesn't matter...nuts are a good source of protein though...and a quick snack! Maybe try to tylenol cold and flu, cut them in half which is what i do with regular tylenol...good luck, and congrats on the weight loss, you are doing awesome!!! and to date i have yet to find a protein drink that agrees with me, i gave up!! Guest guest
n, thanks. I copied it to a file I keep with all these wonder hints. Next time I'm in town, I'll look at GNC (maybe next week). Joan LAP RNY 11/18/03 Dr. Higa, Fresno, CA 282pre-op/275surg/236/140 RE: 8 week update Joan..... Try GNC Protien 95 and mix as follows: 2 scoops Protien (either chocolate, strawberry or vanilla..I prefer either choc or strawberry. 1/3 c Carnation non fat dry milk 1 c Skim milk frozen strawberries, peaches, rasberries, or a little of all 1/2 banana (for thickness) ice cubes if desired Mix in a blender. Averages 40 grams of protien and can also be used as a meal. Some members evn add yogart. Haven't figured our proportions yet. Oh Yeah....when you go to GNC you have your c hoice of protien 95 or protien whey. I use protien 95 as it helps with cholestral and is made from soy. One good thing about GNC...if you purchase something and you don't like it or it doesn't agree with you,,,waaaalaaa you get your money back. Works for me. They also have a gold card. I think I paid $15.00 for it. However, it allows you a 20% discount on any purchase the first 7 days of the month. Even on sale items. I got my monry back the first time I used my card. Bought 2 containers of protien 95 and a bottle of chewable vitamins. Hope this helps
