I went to see my local oral surgeon about the a dark spot at the

root of one of my teeh in an xray (turned out to be nothing), but

while I was there I asked him if he did jaw surgery, he said not

anymore, because he stopped getting referrals, but I asked his

opinion on whether I should have it done. He wasn't too sure if it

would be worth it or not. He says I have about a 1.5mm open bite,

which will get worse when I'm older, however, it developed because

I'm a mouth breather and have a tongue thrust habit that is almost

impossible to correct. He says if I have the surgery, there is a

possibility it will do nothing, and I will develop an overbite

eventually afterwards again. So now I'm really stuck about what to

do. I'm almost twenty, so I'm sure my jaw is donw growing. Any

opinions?
