I wanted your input on it. After eating, I have been having abdominal discomfort. It is not in my pouch, as in being too full. It is a little lower then that. It is more like I have a really bad gas build up in my upper abdomen that is not clearing. Kind of like high labor pains, if you understand what I am saying. And it includes distention, or bloating. I am not calling this pain, because that is not really what it is. It is more like a very hard pressure. I know that I do not have a complete blockage, as I am having bowel movements, and I Am also passing gas. Nothing unusual about either of those. It is lasting for some time, more then an hour. After that time, I can drink some hot tea and it seems to help some. Moving around seems to help some. Anyone have these same type of symptoms and have any idea what it could be? Too low for gallbladder pain. Not ulcer symproms. I am transcected. Thanks for any ideas that you may have. Vicki, this is the weirdest thing. I, too, was about 14-15 months post-op when I started having abdominal pain just after eating. It felt to me like a cross between bad intestinal gas and cramping, but like you, my BMs and bowel sounds were normal, and I was definitely passing gas. It came in waves -- I would be fine for a couple of weeks, then have three or four days in which *every* time I ate I would have this problem. I cut down my solid foods...no difference. I lived on shakes for a while, and that worked temporarily, but even shakes would eventually induce the symptoms. I would have to lie down on a heating pad for a couple of hours until it went away. I have no definitive answers for you, because no one was able to figure out what this thing was. I had a gastroscope in Dec., but all they found was that I have h. pylori, the bacteria that can cause ulcers -- no actual ulcers, though. I did wind up with a severe liver infection in mid-Dec., which lasted into January, but I don't know that the two things were related. And I haven't had the problem for a couple of months now. Wish I could tell you something more, but I do find it strange that we had our symptoms at more or less the same stage after our WLS. Oh...my stomach was not transected, so at least for me, that was not the issue. Take care, I. -- <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> RNY September 19, 2001 Dr. Freeman, Ottawa General Hospital BMI then: 43.5 BMI now: 22 -152 lbs <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
