Guest guest
I have had consistant ear aches and infecctions since I was about 10 years old (I am now 21). One docotor told me that my ear canals were narrow so I was more prone to get swimmers ear---from taking a shower or bath--lol! Anyway so I have had at least 2 ear inffections a year, and severe ear aches a couple times a month. This thursday will be 12 weeks since the surgery--upper lefort 1 three peice, and I have only had no pain in my ears at all. Did anyone else have this pleasure? Anyone know how the jaw surgery could have effected my ears?

Did > anyone else have this pleasure? Anyone know how the jaw surgery > could have effected my ears? Oh, yes, it definitely could! Along with everything else, I've got really really bad TMJ and my worse symptom is earaches. My hearing goes in and out (sometimes good, sometimes bad) and there are times when I feel like I have a red-hot poker stuck in each ear. Very painful, very debilitating. This is all an effect of my jaws not lining up right and the subsequent TMJ. It would only make sense that earaches would go away post surgery, and that hearing may also improve. I'm glad to see someone confirm what I've been hypothosizing! There is hope for me yet. :-) So go ahead and enjoy the new ears... just another side benefit from getting things fixed, Liz! --Claire

Guest guest
That is wonderful to hear - that your ear aches went away. I have TMJ and ear problems...my hearing goes in and out, ring, and ache. I really hate being able to hear myself (in my head) when I talk...and as a result I talk softer. I had ear infections like you mentioned, Liz...I had one every month before I had my septoplastic surgery. It helped a lot, but I still have at least 5 ear infections a year and the ear problems. I am so encouraged to hear your problems went away...maybe there is hope for me too!! Thanks! > > I have had consistant ear aches and infecctions since I was about 10 > years old (I am now 21).
