I am battling the regain thing and haven't even gotten to goal. My diet

is a lot better then it was prior surgery but not quite perfect yet. My

biggest issue, in my ever so humble opinion, is exercise or lack there

off. I just recently got approved to exerices more and now have the

money to go join a gym and get a personal trainer (atleast for one or two

sessions.) I suspect that will help a lot.

Hi I will be 10 years post op from an open RNY this September-I am

what my doctor calls a very distal distal. My weight on surgery day

was 270lbs, down from 320lbs. I have been able to maintain my weight

at 130 pounds due to what I believe is my intake of protein shakes.

Originally I did about 90 grams of soy protein, but now I do about

150 grams of whey protein every day. I mix Stack and ProScore

equally-chocolate of course. I do my shakes every day along with the

rest of my supplements faithfully every single day-even on vacation.

I also stick to high protein foods. I do eat veg's and fruits and I

love salads. I eat small amounts of food 6 to 8 times a day. By

limiting the amounts I eat at a single sitting has kept my pouch

small. I also believe that doing my protein shakes, 6 per day, keeps

the carb monster away. Now don't get me wrong, I do get into junk

every now and then and believe me I pay the price-I dump big time and

the gas is a killer. I try to limit the junk to weekends and in

small amounts. I don't do any formal excerise, but I am very very

active. I 5 grandsons and want to be able to keep up with them. I

love to dance and my husband and I go dancing often. I do a lot of

pleasure walking and a little stretching to keep flexible. Maybe I

am just lucky but I really do believe that protein is the key and

eating small amounts of high protein foods several times a day to

keep the pouch small. Good luck and hang in there. If anyone wants

to email me personally, I would be glad to help.

Regards,

EJ
