Guest guest
Hi all. Well after a multitude of tests, more to come over the next few weeks, my docs after much head scratching have narrowed my problem down. Apparently, the latest x-rays show a healed fracture in my back that the last set of x-rays didn't show after I fell down the stairs. A nerve may be compressed or pinched and explain why every now and again I feel like I forgot to bring my right leg along with me when I leave my house. Goes numb and start limping. Was only limping towards evening, now it's most of the day. Also, the back pain is relentless. My bed is but a distant memory. Too painful to lay down. Have an MRI scheduled for tomorrow and an EMG for the 19th. Then they're going to try the epidural steroid injections, but have to find the little culprit nerve first. They're still trying to figure out why my world goes blank on me from time to time. Have also been experiencing loss of hearing in my right ear that comes and goes. Still managing to go to school, uncomfortably, but going. Keeps my mind off of all this stuff. Just like to say that God was with me the other night. Was at my friend's house and was going to go help him out at his office on Wednesday for awhile, but my car was in the shop, so I stayed at his house Tuesday night. He is a doctor and got a call from the emergency room at 4 am to come in for a consult. I was going to go in with him and then go to the office from the hospital with him, but his wife told me to go back to sleep and she will drop me off at the office. Didn't have to tell me twice, they have a comfy couch. Anyway, he gets in his Porche Boxster on his way to the hospital, hit a patch of ice, went airborn and wrapped himself around a tree. He is now in the surgical ICU they had to put a rod in his leg yesterday and he broke his hip to boot. Though I'm devastated about his accident, I can't help but think I would have been in that car had his wife not said she would drive me to the office later. I'll take the back pain, the leg pain and limping and the occasional " brain fart " over being a corpse. He's lucky to be alive. No passenger would have survived it. Just glad I'm here. I'm starting to feel like a cat. Regina
