Guest guest
Hi everyone! I thought I'd let out a little of my frustrations on you guys, since you all seem to have been through it all or know someone who has. I've been to my Gastro Dr. and my surgeon today. Oh, I'm 13 months post-op. I've been having strange pain in my stomach and sometimes my abdomen. Basically they both said I was full of crap... literally... constipated. Not that I will argue that point, but that was the end of it. You know, make sure you drink your water, take MOM, etc. I can almost deal with that, but I was in tears in the surgeons office. According to his records I have lost 50 lbs in one year. No, not 150, but 50. He response to me has been.. " you've lost slowly right from the beginning and I can't figure out why. " The end. I explained my frustration at having lost (he says 50 pounds, I say 65 - from my scale) so slowly. He just commented that my loss has been slow from the beginning and he doesn't see why it should be since I've been doing everything I'm suppose to. He actually told me that I may not even lose any more. I've lost 50 percent of what I wanted to lose and I have my health back and that was pretty much all he could ask for as a surgeon. He also said that at some point the " honeymoon " will be over and I'll have to watch out for gaining some weight back. He also recommended I see a therapist, since this bothers me so much. I have to admit, I'm kind of in shock. I started crying in his office. Because of a snow storm here, I came home and went to bed. Now, I guess tomorrow I have to get up and get back into fighting mode. It's just not fair that I've had to fight for every damn pound. I didn't expect a miracle, but I expected a little more than what I've gotten. Thank you all for letting me vent. Any and all comments and help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and yes, I drink at least 64 oz of water a day, exercise 30-45 minutes 4 to 5 times a week, eat very little carbs (actually still eat very little, period), and take my supplements.
