Hi Guys,

I tried to speak with my OS today as the once or twice a day pains i

have been getting are still constant. I am writing this at 7:32 pm

and realize that for sure, the ear pain is definitely worse at

night. My OS was in San Fran, so i spoke with the assisting

surgeon. they want to see me on Monday, i was scheduled for a visit

a week from this coming Wed.

He said it may be a TMJ related thing. I asked if this may be easy

healing or something i have to deal with for a long time, he said

possibly, but that an over the phone conversation was hard to

determine what was wrong with me without seeing me. i agree. they

want to do a manual in the mouth, and outer exam as well as

some " radio-something " look. I THINK i have read here that folks

who had TMJ there was no guarantee of it being cured by surgery and

a possibility of it getting worse. i never had it to begin with so

i am wondering if you can GET IT from surgery. seems to me like

it's possible.

The other thing that has happened is that my 12 month old has head

butted me twice in the side jaw, both times on same side, once just

2 days ago and once about month and a half ago. It was painful both

times and i heard something both times, but convinced myself that my

jaw bones have met the solidifying time frame, so don't worry about

it. Now i am wondering it those bumps have anything to do with how i

am feeling.

I also think being in wires all the time except for eating has

restricted my muscle use to a degree that may be affecting this

situation as well.

Possible to get TMJ post surgery if never had it before?

Do you think head but can cause joint/ear/dislocation pain?
