I love kitchen aid products. They will take a beating. I got a new mixer a

few months ago, and it was worth every penny of the $370 I paid for it. It

will turn a quart of cream into a couple of pounds of butter in nothing

flat. (And yes, on occasion, I do make my own butter.) My next two purchases

will be a new KA food processor, and a new KA blender. They are pricey, but

they will outlive me. My DH is of the opinion (bless his heart) that if he

is going to buy tools, he's going to buy the best there is, so he won't be

replacing them down the road. He considers my appliances my tools, and never

bats an eye at what I spend on those items.

Heck, a couple of weeks ago, I was looking to buy a belt sander on sale for

$49 to work on refinishing my hardwood floors...He turned thumbs down on

that...and spent $200 on one that I can barely pick up...but it will last

forever. <BG>

OMG, some of the member's that have been around awhile will remember when my

Hamilton Beach blender tried to murder me, was not a pretty picture. I have

a GE now, I only use it rarely, prefering to just shake and go. I'll ignore

the milk addition also. Well I gotta add just one word about the milk

(EVIL).

We often buy the cheapo model FIRST. With some tools, only the best. With

others, the 19.95 special at " Tools for Cheap " down the street. Some (more

than one) of those tools we though we needed are still in the box. Whew.

The ones we used often have been replaced now with REAL tools. But at least

we didn't blow the cash on tools that ended up being impulse buys.

And, unfortunately, our appliance graveyard is not so lucky. Some of those

are pricey little tools to not use. Sigh.

I remember the attempt on your life.

I don't use a real blender. Only hand blenders. That way, if they get loose,

they can't do TOOOO much damage.
