Guest guest
I had SARPE roughly 7 months ago and now I feel more of my cheek bone sticking out beneath my temples. That is really the only change I've noticed and it's very subtle; I don't see much of a difference but I can feel it. > Hi, people with experience on SARPE! > > Just out of curiosity: does your face usually change after SARPE in > any way? Guest guest
Thanks, ! Some positive facial changes might make the whole thing more interesting, but hey, I don't mind keeping this old face either, I'm quite happy with it except for the crooked upper #2 teeth Instead I'm very, VERY, nervous about the expander itself. As I probably have the worst gag reflex on the northern hemisphere I'm afraid the gadget may cause a feeling of panic and the worst gagging episode ever. Is it like that, at first? At all? How about your speech? Did you have trouble speaking? Strangely enough, knowing what will be done up there, the only thing I'm actually not that worried about is pain: everyone has been telling the whole thing is next to painless. My engagement with the expander has been estimated to be 6 months long. - j > I had SARPE last September and didn't experience any facial changes. I also have a narrow face, so you would think it would be obvious if there were changes. The area above my upper lip was swollen for a little while after the rest of the swelling went down, but there were no permanent changes to my facial features. Good luck with your surgery : ) ! > --

Guest guest
Yes, my face changed. My nostrils are little more " open " (more to the side). As a result of this, my upper lip is now also slightly " higher " then it used to be (so you see more teeth in a relaxed position of my lips, whereas before my surgery, you would not see any teeth with my lip in a relaxed position). I think my face did get a little fuller as well, but it did not affect my cheekbones at all. I'm still trying to get used to my new face (I also had lower advancement and genio) one day I like it, the next day I don't. One thing that I'm eagery awaiting is the slight swelling to go down on the right side of my nose/upper lip, because now my left side of my upper lip is a little lower then my right side lip, which makes my upper lip look crooked. O and also, my nose has always been a little off, and I feel that because of the SARPE, it's more noticable now. It's all a matter of millimeters and other people probably won't notice anything, but hey I do... This is my experience, maybe for you it will work out differently. I will try to post some pictures soon, just haven't had the time! Nathalie > Hi, people with experience on SARPE! > > Just out of curiosity: does your face usually change after SARPE in > any way? Guest guest
Would you describe this change a positive one? I wouldn't mind having some cheekbones because I now don't have any -j > I had SARPE roughly 7 months ago and now I feel more of my cheek bone sticking out beneath my temples. Guest guest
It's definitely a postive change. The sides of my face were very flat before and now there is a little more definition. I had a decent amount of expansion, my gap was 7mm wide when I stopped turning the key. So glad that gap is gone now! Good luck > > Would you describe this change a positive one?
