Okay, Mandy you were right! I bought the powdered gelatin today, and just

had it in some hot cocoa, and I didn't notice any difference in taste at

all. Wonderful way to add 6gms of protein. I did drink it pretty fast, in

case it started to gel, but even at the last swallow, it didn't seem any

thicker. I'd much rather have it in hot drinks than the protein bars. You

just had to keep posting this suggestion enough times, that I finally got it

on my grocery list! You also suggested it in coffee. Do you notice any

change in flavor? Or have you tried it in tea? Next step is to make the

gummy " bears " !

I've been having so much fun with the Gummy protein Candy Joan, a huge boon

on this end. I tried it with Crystal light .... sugar free Cool Aid .... next

week I'm going to try it with Cinnamon Oil and Splenda. For me, thrilling

to get so much protein, without the fat calories... and lol, without gagging.

Am so happy for you .... I know how hard it is to try new things.

Yes I do put the Knox Gelatin in my Coffee, ... haven't tried it with tea ...

but no need to worry about drinking it " fast " , Joan, ... it doesn't jell up

until its been cold for a long time.

Again, am thrilled that you found a new way to boost your Protein. A side

note regarding Gelatin.... it is Collagen packed, fabulous for your joints,

skin, hair, nails... and if you get " addicted " ... there is a bulk distributor

online who sells the Gelatin for one fifth the cost of Knox. Let me know and I

will send you the site.

Unflavored Gelatin also know as  Gelatine from Bulk Foods .... 31.37 for

5lbs ... which is by comparison .... $18.00 Knocks ( a pound ) ... and Bulk

Foods ... $6.00 for the same pound.....

they have 25lbs bags for less ......

again, I am so glad that you tried this " easy trick " to uplevel the protein

Joan, this, without adding too many calories ... and yes, its so

palatable/easy. Jeanne was talking about making ... " gelatine leather " .. like

fruit

leather but without flavoring beyond a smidge of salt .. to use in place of

bread,

and pitta and flour tortillas. I suppose if you only stuffed the gelatine

leather with " cold items " it would hold up and act like a nice casing for rolled

cold cut sandwiches, luke warm beans, or chilli w/salsa and letuse, tocos

etc... havent tried it yet .... but I will, and then I'll offer up " the honest

scoop " ... yuck .. or yum. It all comes down to this, TASTE.

Have yourself a great weekend, hugs....

Mandy, I'd love to know a cheaper distributor. Yesterday I was wondering

where I could get it cheaper. It was $8.00+ for a 32 pack. Didn't get the

gummy candy made yet, maybe today. Had it with coffee this a.m. and it

seemed no different than regular coffee. I remember as a teenager, my mom

wanted me to take it to help my nails. They are still very thin and

breakable. I also don't mind help with my skin and joints. My husband would

see people I went to school with and say how wrinkled their faces were.

Apparently mine has fine wrinkles at the outside corner of the eyes, and

smile lines....but the fat was hiding them. It just amazed me that I could

get in extra protein and not hate what I was eating/drinking. Twice a day

is 12gms of protein!!! I could say goodbye to those nasty protein

bars.....but as I bought them at Costco, I've got a lot left. I don't mind

one bite here and there, but additional bites get worse.

Again, thank you for this wonderful find!

Pam, I've been saving hints in a file, and have this post from Mandy.

" Today, my friend Jeanne turned me on to ... Sugar Free Gummy Bears.

Imagine!!! Not bad at all ... and 48grams of Protein .. for a 3/4cup

portion. Near

ZERO carbs, depending on what sugar free sweetener you use. Ok here goes

....

ready??

eight packages of Knox Original Gelatine UNFLAVORED .... one package of

sugar

free cool-aid or Crystal light .. a half cup water. Yep its that ////easy.

Put it in all a bowl .. mix ... ( I added five packages of splenda to mine )

then place in your Microwave for up to two minutes. I kept watching mine.

It boils up the sides a bit. Then pour it on a flat surface, I used a

dinner

plate which made a sort of fruit leather... then poured the other half into

an ice cube tray. Place it in the freezer for FIVE minutes ONLY ... .. do

NOT

let it freeze... it just roles right off the plate like plastic ... let it

dry

... and tahhhh dahhhh... a zero carb, high protein snack to munch on here and

there. HAVE FUN WITH IT ... BE A KID AGAIN .. this was a blast.

for those who are interested ... this recipe is 200 calories, 48grams

protein....zero carbs... zero fat .... It doesn't get much better than

that

folks!!! "

I'm eager to try it.

, it's BulkFoods.com Shipping is free UPS ground, but they charge a

$4.95 per order packing charge. I ordered today and got an email saying it

would be shipped tomorrow.

Yes, 1#...WTG..I'm waiting impatiently for mine to move, but will when it

wants to. Wow, 112# in less than a year. I forget sometimes how lucky we

are to be losing so fast, compared to a normal weight loss.
