Guest guest
Whatever post indicated that 30 seconds on each machine is enough....heck, not only would 30 seconds not let my heart rate get going to be termed aerobic, but 30 seconds on a stationary bike wouldn't even give me enough time to push the pedals full circle before I would have to get off....I'll stick with my YMCA and soon to be close to work 24 Hour Fitness where at least my chances would change from 30 seconds to 30 minutes....that is the least amount of time to get a good treadmill/stationary bike aerobic workout! Guest guest
Carol, That post was from me. If you haven't tried Curves, you can't really say what you did. Spending 30 seconds on each station at Curves DOES give you a very good aerobic workout in a 30 minute time period....depending on how and what activity you are using on the pads (rest stations between machines). Spending 30 minutes on each piece of equipment gives you more of a chance to stress your muscles out and an increased risk for tears and injury. I understand that some people feel it isn't very much, but unless you have previously tried it, you don't really know what it is like. I'm sorry to disagree with you all on this subject, but even though I work for them, I'd feel the same about this issue if I didn't. T. Guest guest
Well, I would be willing to change my opinion if they provide a trial membership (2 weeks) like all other gyms, then I could see firsthand. I was just wanting to clarify the seconds vs. minutes, cause it didn't appear to be possible that someone could get a workout otherwise. Guest guest
Carol, I'm sorry that they don't offer a trial membership. I didn't know that anyone did that at all. When I lived in Tomball I called several places and asked about that kind of thing and never was offered a trial membership. I'd be interested to know who does offer that. Also you do get to have a free workout (at least at our facility) to see if you like it or whatnot. Another thing to keep in mind is that the contract you sign is not hard to get out of if you decide to join. So if after a month or whatever you decide it isn't working out for you then you just have to give them notice in writing and maybe pay a little bit (like $10) and that's it. It's very simple. As far as the workout goes, it is 30 seconds at each machine (usually anywhere between 8 and 12 machines) and you go around the circuit 3 times. I hope that helps clear up the confusion on that issue . T.
