Guest guest
I had SARPE 3 years ago and BSSO 6 months ago, I don't have any nerve damage at all. I think nerve damage needs to be better defined. Sometimes people think it means " muscle damage " where your face and mouth would droop as after a stroke. This is not the case. Nerve damage usually refers to a loss of sensation or more commonly " altered sensation " . I had altered sensation for several weeks after the surgery. I could feel my lips and chin but not fully, it felt odd and tingly. It did not affect my speech or show up in my face at all. Now it is completely gone. Talk to your OS about what exacly nerve damage entails. Guest guest
I dunno if this will sing as sweet a song, but I had lower advancement, bilateral bsso, and had no numbness ever, and no nerve damage at all, either. Mercifully, my ortho was able to widen and balance my upper arch enough to serve me well, so no trouble there, either. Cammie Hope you will experience the same. Guest guest
That sounds like a high number to me, but then I'm not a surgeon, nor a nurse, working with patients in this procedure. And I didn't have it, either. Cammie > > > > > > I was reading a post about having permanent nerve damage from > > SARPE. > > > How common is this?
