Guest guest
Hi everyone I went to the doctor yesterday for my 6 month check. I am doing pretty well, but a few issues that I am working on. I am " Folic Acid Anemic " I knew I was anemic, because I am always soooo cold my hands actually turn purple (that looks really bad when I wear red nail polish). My iron count was perfectly normal, but my folic acid level was way low. My doctor said he doesn't see that very often. Another issue, was that my B-12 was a little on the low side, and that is with getting monthly shots. My cholesterol was great (140) and everything else looked good (but to be honest, I never had a problem). The thing that concerns me the most is that I have lost sooooo much muscle. 20% of my weight loss is from my muscle. And I work out daily. I spoke to the exercise physiologist about this. She said it could be a few things, either it could be that I asm not getting in enough calories (I am getting in 60-75 grams of protein a day) or that I am exercising too much. I know I am venting on, but I am telling you guys this because there is such thing as too much exercise and then you might as well have not exercised. Another issue is dehydration. I drink about 65-70 ounces of fluid daily, and for me, that is not enough. Just make sure you go to your doctor and make sure you are being closely monitored. Weight loss is important, but the numbers on the scale are not what count. Best of luck to everyone Mindi 277/175/125?? Guest guest
Mindi, it's good they're monitoring you for all these things. As to exercise, I'm going to remember this as I tend to go overboard sometimes. This: " Weight loss is important, but the numbers on the scale are not what count " is a very good reminder. Thanks!
