Guest guest
Dear : I am suffering from severe anemia also. I am three years out from surgery and I have had to have 3 blood transfusions over the last year and a half. Nothing worked for me. I took all kinds of iron pills but nothing absorbed. Even my B12 dropped terribly although I was doing a sublingual every day. They have recently started me on iron therapy through IVs. It takes about 3 hours once a week but it does seem to be alleviating some of the symptoms. I did have heart palpations when I was very low. Also shortness of breath, leg twitching at night, always tired, and above everything else I chewed ice non stop. I am going in tomorrow to find out if the blood levels have increased. That will be the true test. Hope this helps. Keep in touch. Surgery: March 7, 2000 Weight Gone: 240 pounds

I do not consider taking vits a burden, I consider it a small cost for being healthy. In fact, I really don't understand some post ops reluctance to take vits. It doesn't even compare to the stuff we shoveled in preop. Just my 2 cents. Fay Bayuk 300/175 10/23/01 Dr

Guest guest
By the time I got all my thophyllin (I forgot how to spell it ! Yippee!), inhalers, Rx for this, for that, well, with the sleep apnea & asthma, after the first batch, I had to nap. Sigh. I lost 150 lbs. I can TAKE 150 pills. No contest. I don't have to, but I would not hesitate. Better than 150 Rx to help me be conscious enough to feel how sick I was Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
I also have to say that sublingual B-12 DOES NOT WORK for some of us. I religiously took TWO sublinguals (32,000% RDA of the RIGHT kind) each day from my surgery until 14.5 months post-op when I crashed. Diagnosis: pernicious anemia, which is anemia CAUSED by insufficient B-12. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000569.htm The treatment was iron infusions in the short term to get me back to life, but long-term, the solution is injected B-12, so that my body can do its job.
