Catzrule, Betadine (Providone Iodine) is inexpensive and effective as

an antiseptic skin cleanser, but it has a reputation for causing skin

reactions among hospital staff (so much so that antiseptic

alternatives to Betadine are standard fare in every scrub room). I

don't know whether iodine is absorbed into the skin in high enough

concentrations to be of concern -- do you?

I love your =^^= <g>

Good Afternoon Doctor....

I'm hoping the iodine absorption is minimal ( because I leave it on for a

few minutes once a day) and the only skin reaction so far is MUCH less

acne. Hospital staff using the antiseptic would be washing and washing and

washing ......and their iodine absorption would be much more than I am

absorbing..

Gosh...here I thought I had a safe treatment. I'm still going to keep

trying it but I will rescind my suggestion to others and have them follow

your advice.

I guess Betadine stock will not cat-egorically go up after my endorsement

:( I better cancel that ~buy~ with my broker...

Yes..I am the =^.^=lady. I live in the Bay Area and I was a pet sitter for

a few years and that =^.^=is my computer nickname

I'm down to 3 =^^='s now and one is 17 years old and the Vet said as long

as she smiles at me each morning...her quality of her life is still

good. I am having a harder and harder time pulling up the edges of her

mouth each morning but she is hanging in there. Of course..Poor Baby keke

has chin acne....the apple doesn't fall very far from my tree.

I wanted to reply in hieroglyphics, =^^=, but I can't without the

Webdings or Symbols font. <g>

If your whiskers are fine with Betadine, that's great. Sounds like

you got my point, that it's not the perfect cleanser for all

rosaceans, esp for those with sensitive skins and/or impaired

protective barriers (a greater percentage will get absorbed). But for

those with intact protective barriers and no reaction to it, Betadine

is a cheap, popular whole body cleanser.

Cat-ch you later,
