Guest guest
I'm certainly no expert, but I can tell you this. My younger sister keeps herself pretty thin..probably at " chart " weight, but for our family that is underweight for our body types. She is 3 years younger than me at 42, but her skin is thin and finely wrinkled, her hair is like Brillo. She gets anaemic easily and tends to get infections. She needs some fat to get her hair and skin looking normal, but don't tell her that. She would rather look 90 years old and be a size 8. Vicki A. p.s. her periods have been off for decades too. > In a message dated 3/18/2003 2:47:57 AM Eastern Standard Time, > tuesdynite@a... writes: > << What does the following have to do with fat absorption question (which is > the > subject line title)? Guest guest
Carol, I'm a proximal and I don't absorb all of the fat that I eat, but I definitely absorb some of it. I take Omega 3 fatty acids and can definitely feel their effects. It takes six pills a day, but I do get some of it. Two tablespoons of flaxseed oil is quite a dosage, so some must be absorbed. I would think that liquid would absorb more easily than the oil in seeds, since the seeds would have to be broken down. Who knows?? in Austin RNY April 1998 Re: Re: fat absorption/Skin issues > In a message dated 3/18/2003 4:01:42 PM Central Standard Time, > androidmama1@... writes: > > > Anyways, the other thing was a tablespoon twice a day of flaxseed oil. Guest guest
Wowza, wouldn't you be better off taking 2 packets of Coromega a day? Vitalady tested on her distal system and her levels showed that it was absorbed, right? I just hate taking pills, hence my move to using something that, gasp, actually tastes like pudding. in Amarillo Lap RNY 2/02 > Carol, > > I'm a proximal and I don't absorb all of the fat that I eat, but I > definitely absorb some of it. Guest guest
You're right. Coromega is great stuff and undoubtedly better absorbed than pills with oil in them since it's emulsified already. But, the particular brand I take, Omegabrite has special mood-elevating characteristics (ratios of EPA to some other something, haven't worked too well lately <G>) that I'm seeking. I dream like crazy on them and sleep better. in Austin RNY April 1998 Re: fat absorption/Skin issues > Wowza, wouldn't you be better off taking 2 packets of Coromega a day? > Vitalady tested on her distal system and her levels showed that it was > absorbed, right?
