If you are post-op...anywhere from 2-6 mths this is normal and fear

not!

If you are pre-op not so sure, ask your Dr.

Ok, but here's the scoop....the anesthia allows your body to go deep

into relaxiation and while your hair normally cycles sporadically

this cuts off the growing cycle all at once, so you experience more

loss than normal...but it should start right up again.

I have had this for my past 2 surgeries and had no probs getting back

to normal. They say it's normally at 4-6 mths, but I happpen to go

more around 2 mths?! and like you it's always in the shower when that

hand full makes you go holy cow that the heck is going on?!

So relax...you may want to just try and avoid extra stresses on your

hair like tight pony tails and allow for some ease while your body

cycles...but again, all should be fine and the only person who will

probably notice will be you.

Sorry to hear about your hair loss. A few years ago I started

losing my hair (I'm 31 now). I went to a dermatologist and he

diagnosed sebhorric dermatitis. I bought a shampoo called Nizoral

and it really helped. I stopped shedding hair so profusely and the

rest of my hair seemed thicker. I bought it on the Internet but I

think you can find it in drugstores in America. Hope this

information helps. I am having surgery in one week and I definitely

plan to take my bottle with me to the hospital. (I'll be in the

hospital for 2 weeks). Lots of luck to you!

This topic was discussed not too long ago, and someone suggested that

it can happen as a result of stress. Even had a name for it, that

started with an M I think, but danged if I can remember what the name

was. If you do an archive search on " hair " you might be able to find

it, but you'll have to go back in time, maybe six months or a year.

Thanks for the info, yea i think its due to that. It has been almost

a month now from my operation. I am drooling much less. My face is

still swollen. I am eating blended foods. Not too bad. But the first

week after the operation was the worst for me! It had to be longest

week of my life! Anewas thats about it. Thanks for the Info Jo.
