Greetings,

This is my first message and I would appreciate hearing about your

experience(s). I am scheduled for surgery in April and am wondering

what to expect in terms of recouperation time (especially time I

should take off from work). Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Jennie,

I've posted mine and some others' experiences on the geocities info

website at http://www.geocities.com/orthognathicinfo/

I had upper/lower/genio, thought I could take 2 weeks off and bounce

right back to normal. Duh!

Take as much time off as you can without jeopardizing your job. It's

pretty hard to go back early, and then try to take time off if you

can't handle it, especially when you look relatively normal. Most

people don't understand what you'll be going through - it's pretty

major surgery. You'll be tired, eating will be time-consuming,

talking will be a chore and also tiring.

Having said all that, I really breezed through my recovery.
