Guest guest
Hello All My WLS Pals!!! I know I don't post much but I do read all the posts. I just had to post this morning and share my good news! Welcome the new member of the century club!! Climbed on the scales this morning and I am down 102.5 pounds!!! I never thought I would see the day I had lost 100 pounds. This surgery has been a life saver for me! I know I still have 122 pounds to go to my goal (I hope my goal is a realistic one) but I wouldn't trade the changes that have already occurred for anything and I would have the surgery again in a minute!! My proudest moment so far was this past weekend when we went out to eat to a Mexican restaurant. They were very full so they put us in a booth. Yes, automatically my mind says " I'll never fit! " but low and behold I could not only fit in the booth seat but I could even put my legs up under me in the seat and still have plenty of room!! I felt almost skinny!! LOL! Just wanted to share my joy with everyone that understands where I am coming from and encourage those who are just starting out on this journey. It is a long curvy road but it is a wonderful trip!!! Skinny Wishes to Everyone!! Sandi C. Lap RNY 8/26/03 375/272.5/

Guest guest
Okay, can I jump in??? By the time you guys might meet, I will be on the losing side too, and I would love to meet Joan, n and Robin too!! I live in the Bay Area, so it wouldn't be too far for me to go in either direction. Everyone on here has helped me stay determined to keep focused on this surgery that I want so badly, and kept me from being depressed by the wait. I can't thank you enough. pre-op 2-5-04 -- RE: New Member of the Century Club!!!!!Yahoo!!! n, I'd love to meet you. I'm about 2 or 2-1/2 hours south of Modesto, can't remember....I think it's about 1-1/2 hours to Merced from here. Keep up the wonderful work! Everyone here inspires me to keep on the right track. I've been emailing a daughter of a friend who's going to have surgery on the 20th. Her insurance didn't require much of anything to qualify, so she doesn't have any idea of what to eat, or what's going to happen. Luckily she has the same group of doctor's I had, and will be at the same hospital. It just gets me that more information isn't given out prior to surgery. I fought my insurance all the way, thought they were being picky, but have to eat my words now and be thankful I've had a good education and good support....although knowing a lot about it certainly doesn't mean that there aren't surprises. In case you do come to Modesto, here's my email address: jclinton@... Guest guest
Janice, 3 months seems like an awful long wait. I'd call them and pester them. If the surgeon's office doesn't have an answer, I'd contact your insurance. They initially told me it could be as long as 3 months, but I was going to give them 2 weeks and start calling. They called me 6 days later to schedule the surgery, so I didn't have to. Guest guest
Joan, my pcp initially told me it would probably take a year for the surgery to actually happen. I have a referral from the insurance to see the surgeon, but I think I still need the aproval for the surgery. I will call the dr. office next week. Just to make sure they received all my info. My daughter is getting married in October and I'd sure like to have lost some of this weight. Janice > Janice, 3 months seems like an awful long wait. I'd call them and pester > them. Guest guest
Janice, good pcp....that seems like the average wait. I wish mine had been informed and told me that from the beginning. My insurance did the same thing, approved the consult appt. with the surgeon, then the surgeon's office gets the approval for the surgery. A wedding.....how fun! If you've lost some by then, it's wonderful. I totally understand. For my daughter's wedding 2 years ago, I felt so self-conscious, but lucked into a long dress that was incredibly flattering. I was shocked that I didn't hate the pictures. Joan LAP RNY 11/18/03 Dr. Higa, Fresno, CA 282pre-op/275surg/239/

Guest guest
I am so jealous Sandi!!!!!!! Way to go!!!!! You deserve big BIG HUGS!!!!!!! I can only imagine how excellent it feels to have made such an accomplishment!!!!! You go girlfriend!!!! Candi New Member of the Century Club!!!!!Yahoo!!!
