live in Fremont (until she died....very sad), and my brother lived in Dixon.

I also have relatives in Sacto, Elk Grove, Redwood City, Burlingame, and

Mtn. View. I love it that it seems so close.....as opposed to the east

coast.

Hey Joan I moved to Illinois from Mountain View!!!!! About 5 years ago when

my husband was transferred. I lived in the Bay Area for about 25 years.

Mostly in San area!!!

I live East of LA, up in the pine filled mountains in a small resort

community near Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead. ( yes, where the fires were,

though our

community was spared) My husband, a workers comp attorney often has business

meetings in Joan's neck of the woods with a favored client, so for me, .... an

easy commute via plane. Let me know.

....it would be so much fun to meet all of you in person.....

Candi, yep, small world isn't it. My son-in-law grew up in San but

gave it up to go to college in Fresno. If not, my 2 kids wouldn't have met

him, and he is great! Was my son's best-friend and study mate for 3 years

before dating my daughter. It is amazing to go through San area. It's

grown so fast! And spread out. Commuters are buying homes in Los Banos

now.

community, while surrounded by fire, was spared. The houses, the views, the

Mandy, I love looking outside in the a.m. and seeing 2 deer grazing on the

front lawn, our cat chasing the squirrels (dumb cat even fights them), the

quail on the back lawn. You're right, it is a lifestyle choice and we love

the peacefulness of it, but can still go to the " big city " to shop, etc.

I just noticed you're down 3#!!! WTG. Didn't you say you had surgery years
