Stef,

I take synthroid and I am having no problems with the meds so far.

I am just over 3 months out. The only problem I have had is my

thyroid decided to go from hypo to hyper. Once we figured out what

was causing me so much havoc..the dr just adjusted my meds and I am

fine. I go back at the end of this month and have my TSH (thyroid

panel) checked again to see if my meds need to be adjusted. I did

crush my meds at first but now I take them each morning about an

hour before I eat.

God Bless

Thanks Shelly, for the info. What kind of havoc did your thyroid put you

through? Just curious so I can be one step ahead.

I was about 6 weeks post op and started to feel really bad. I was

not able to eat or drink without feeling really sick. I even told

my husband that I was going to refuse to eat and drink anymore cause

it made me sick. I felt like I was literally dying. Mood swings

and just did not feel like myself. My stomach stayed feeling

nauseated. I never knew such a small thing could cause you to feel

so bad. But the dr said that is one of the symptoms of hyper

thyroid/....being nauseated all the time and not wanting to eat.

Just be very aware of what is happening with your body cause the

whole time I thought it was something to do with the surgery and

that something had maybe gone wrong that was making me feel this

sick but the whole time it was my thyroid. Your thyroid is a very

important organ and plays a BIG part of almost every body function

we have....from our moods to our heart beat to feeling tired and

fatigued.

Make sure you have your dr do a thyroid panel on you every couple of

months to make sure that you don't need your meds adjusted until you

are at your goal.

Take care and email me anytime if you would like.

Stef, I also take Levoxyl and I haven't had any problems so far. I

just had blood work done before Christmas and my levels were

perfect. I take my pills first thing in the morning and I wait an

hour before I take any vitamins or eat.]
